Kern Community Foundation Seeks Sponsors for 2013 Charity Giving Guide - Mark Calendars for local "Giving Day"
Aug 27, 2013
Forget about “Black Friday” and “Cyber Monday.” Get ready for “Giving Day” in Kern County, to be observed on Tuesday, December 3, 2013. “While it may still feel like summertime, the holidays are just around the corner. The Foundation is looking forward to the season of giving, and Giving Day is our way to encourage donors to consider the opportunity to give to local charities this year,” said Jeff Pickering, President and CEO of the organization. “There is seldom a better or more rewarding investment than a gift to an effective charity serving the community.”
The Foundation is seeking individuals and businesses to support Giving Day through the sponsorship of its Charity Giving Guide, to be published in anticipation of the event. The Guide will be distributed by The Bakersfield Californian, Sunday, November 24, 2013 to 30,000 households. The Guide will provide information on those charities listed on the Nonprofit Search site, as well as inspirational stories of local donors, and other opportunities to give, i.e. through establishment of a fund at the Foundation, or purchase of Giving Cards. Interested sponsors should contact Director of Business Development Alejandra Contreras at 661.325.5346 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
