In 2015, nearly $250,000 was awarded to 115 students. All students receive post-award services including academic counseling, career advising, transcript review, and financial aid monitoring.
Kern Community Foundation holds and manages 13 scholarship funds to benefit students graduating from Kern County high schools. These scholarships are all administered through the Common Application.
Aligning Current Services
Kern Community Foundation, with the help of Stanford's Gardner Center, has conducted detailed surveys of school sites and community programs to inventory the services provided and to which students. This inventory will improve alignment between services and student populations service to increase the availability of services to all students.
Student Success Blueprint
Kern Community Foundation is bringing together community education stakeholders to think strategically, compile data, and create a blueprint for student success. This data drive, strategic plan will represent all levels of local education.
